Cover2Cover has a team of directors who have a passion for reading, writing, South African literature and entrepreneurship. Palesa Morudu heads up the organisation as Managing Director. Ros Haden is responsible for content development. Dorothy Dyer provides expertise in terms of literacy development and Mignon Hardie offers expertise in terms of new business development.
Palesa is a writer and director of editorial services company, Clarity Editorial, servicing public and private sector clients. A marketing and communications specialist, Palesa’s career spans a variety of global and SA management positions. Prior positions include: head of marketing and communications at the Robben Island Museum; sales and marketing director for AllAfrica Global Media in Washington, DC; deputy director at the Government Communication and Information Services; and, at Kagiso Media, assumed responsibility for the Brand South Africa portfolio at Kagiso Media. Her experience includes presenting technical concepts related to CSI and broad-based black economic empowerment in plain English. Palesa also writes a twice monthly column in Business Day. Ros is a writer and editor. Her celebrated novel – The Tin Church (David Philip, 2004) – was translated into Dutch, German and French. She has also written numerous short stories, children’s fiction and school textbooks. Ros has also worked as a teacher at St Marks College in the Northern Province, a project manager for ESST (Education Support Services Trust), a freelance scriptwriter for Generations, an editor for Soccer Laduma and Live Writing and a copy editor for Growpeace in Africa (a registered charity). Ros has a MA degree in Creative writing from UCT (distinction), a Diploma in Advanced Studies in Publishing from Oxford Brookes University (distinction), an HDE (PGP) and a BA degree majoring in English (UCT).Ros Haden, Director and Publisher
Previously an English teacher, Dorothy’s passion for getting her students to read more was the impetus for Cover2Cover. She discovered the dearth of relevant teen literature available and, through the encouragement of her students who loved the idea of reading stories that reflected their lives, decided to launch Cover2Cover. Besides having taught English at a range of schools, Dorothy has written many textbooks and school readers. She has two Masters degrees from UCT, in Applied Language and Literacy Studies, and Creative Writing.Dorothy Dyer, Director and Publisher
Mignon is a director of Cover2Cover Books. She is involved with new business development and the secure financial management of the company. Mignon is passionate about small business development, having been involved with the start-up, marketing, promotion, administration and management of a number of SMMEs. In addition, she is a lover of books and reading. Mignon is also the executive director and a trustee of Cover2Cover’s nonprofit partner, FunDza Literacy Trust.
