Dorothy Dyer

Dorothy Dyer, the director of Cover2Cover Books, brings a wealth of experience to her role. As a former English teacher at various South African high schools, she dedicated herself to instilling a love of reading in her students. It was this passion that ultimately led to the founding of Cover2Cover Books.

In addition to her work with Cover2Cover Books, Dorothy is actively involved with the FunDza Literacy Trust, furthering her commitment to promoting literacy among South African youth.

Dorothy is not only a champion of reading but also an accomplished author herself, having penned teen novels and textbooks. She has also conducted numerous workshops to test materials and nurture students’ writing skills.

Her academic achievements include a Master’s degree in Applied Language and Literacy Studies and another Master’s degree in Creative Writing, both obtained from the University of Cape Town (UCT). Dorothy’s dual expertise in education and creative writing underscores her dedication to empowering young minds through literature and literacy.
