I’ve been drawn to the arts for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved to read and tell stories. I remember when I was in grade 1, my father took me to our local library, and I got my first-ever library card. Every two weeks, he’d take me there to get new books. I always looked forward to our trips.

Twenty-three years later, I’ve had the opportunity to study and obtain a diploma in Video Technology. I’m a co-partner in a film and television production company called BTS Films, based in Durban, KZN. I’ve written screenplays for both short films and feature films, which have been screened at both local and international film festivals. Two feature films were licensed by Mnet.

I love writing, and being a filmmaker makes it even more amazing because it gives me the opportunity to bring all the characters I’ve created to life. Mandla’s Mark is the first children’s story I’ve ever written. I enjoyed the process of writing it and look forward to creating many more.
